VideoFest 24 Call for Volunteers!

Curious about what goes on behind-the-scenes at a film festival? Well VideoFest is seeking energetic, enthusiastic and devoted Volunteers who are able to dedicate time to help run the festival. From September 22nd through the 25th, the Festival will be in full swing and we can use all the help we can get! We are looking for volunteers to help with the following:

Setup and Teardown: We will preferably need two groups of people, one for setting up and preparing out space at our venues, and the other to help tear down at the end of the festival. Heavy lifting may be required, so please only apply for this if you are capable.

Managing Theaters: The real magic of every film festival occurs in the theaters. During the run of the festival we will need a handful of volunteers to help out with the screenings. We will need a group of volunteers to help direct guests to theaters, take headcounts, check badges, take tickets and help count ballots.

Box Office: We need volunteers who are good with handling money that can help setup/breakdown the box office during the run of the festival as well as help with Will Call. Box Office volunteers will be directly assisting the box office staff.

Membership:  We need volunteers to help man the membership booth during the run of the festival. Volunteers must be enthusiastic and must be able to really sell why people should join the Video Association of Dallas.

Transportation: We are in need of volunteers who can dedicate their own means of transportation to help us transport filmmakers as well as other errands before the festival starts. Interested Volunteers must have a clean driving record and must be extremely professional and hospitable.

Tech: If you have any technical experience with computers, cameras, presentation, etc. we could definitely use your help.

Floater: Not sure where you fit in with the festiva? Having a hard time deciding where you’d like to pitch in? If you have a flexible personality and willingness to help out wherever needed, the floater position is perfect for you.  Wherever there is a need, whether it’s in the theaters, the box office, the membership booth, setup or a party, the floater’s job is to simply make themselves available. Great position for someone who has never volunteered with a festival before.

VideoFest 24 is sure to be an amazing experience, and we would love to have you be a part of it! When Volunteering your time with VideoFest, you are aiding us in our ultimate goal in spreading awareness of the arts and cultivating the appreciation of independent film in Dallas. So please inquire if you would like to be a part of something truly special, we would love to have you!
