Video association of Dallas presents… Super guts and Glory!

Hey Folks.

We here at VAD love movies, and we also love to have fun. Nothing screams out the word fun more than some friendly competition between local filmmakers. If you had the chance to see “Super 8” in theaters this summer, you know that part of the film was about five youngsters making a film on a Super 8 camera for a local film competition. Here is your chance to mesmerize us with an awesome film shot on a super 8 camera with our Super Guts and Glory film contest. There will be 8 teams competing and here is the rundown…

The 8 teams will meet at the starting line in the Angelika at Mockingbird Station, on Sept 17 At Sundown 8pm we will reveal a surprise theme, location, and prop they will need to incorporate into the film. They will receive their 100 feet of color Super-8. Then it’s on!

The teams will race to make their films and cross the finish line at the Angelika, Sundown 8pm on Sept 18.

The films will be viewed for the first time at the Angelika Film Center, located in Dallas’ Mockingbird Station, on Friday, Sept 23 as a part of VideoFest.

Anything goes and anything could happen as these teams battle for the distinction of Best Overall, Best Cinematography, Best Live Performance, and other titles.

So, amaze us. Make us cry, laugh, cheer, or grab onto the handles of our seat because we are scared. Express your love of movies and showcase your talents old school style. This should be a super fun competition! For full contest details visit www.videofest.org/superguts

Have fun and we look forward to seeing your great work!
