Confirmed Guest: Distributor Jacob Wolters

DVF is pleased to announced that NYC-based distributor Jacob Wolters representing Oscilloscope, will be a guest at this year’s festival. He will be in attendance to present the film, “The Other F Word.” Both films will be a part of our festival. We look forward to having him present experiencing the many films we have to show. Below is a little bit about Mr. Wolters and the work he has done for the industry.

“Jacob Wolters moved to New York from New Mexico to follow his dreams and meet pretty ladies. For the past two years, he has been an integral force behind the success of Oscilloscope Laboratories, a leading independent film distribution company, launched in 2008 by Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys. During his tenure with Oscilloscope, Jacob has overseen nontheatrical exhibition and exhibitor relations for such films as the Academy Award-nominated THE MESSENGER, Kelly Reichardt’s MEEK’S CUTOFF, and the very well received BELLFLOWER. Documentary films include the Academy Award-nominated BURMA VJ and THE GARDEN, as well as the widely praised A FILM UNFINISHED and REBIRTH. Jacob is a tenacious cribbage opponent and owns two house plants. He currently resides in New York City with his cat Squiggles.”

He will be presenting The Other F Word Saturday Sept 24th at 9 PM

He will be part of a panel “The Changing Landscape of Independent Media” at 1 PM on Saturday as well.
